Jay & Virginia, founders of the family, always dreamed of working with their children and preserving their farm. Upon discovering that grapevines have an affinity for rocky soil, elevation, abundant sunshine and a steady year-round breeze – all characteristics of their land – the family explored the idea of planting a vineyard and starting a winery together. Their Home Vineyard rests at 800' above the sea on channery loam soils overlaying a bedrock of greenstone schist. Sustainability is of utmost importance. They implement a pragmatic farming program using environmentally sound materials. Such as using diverse cover crops to entice beneficial insects and promote healthier vines with stronger immune systems that demand fewer inputs.
