The label features five wine-colored handprints, those of husband-wife vignaioli Carlo and Alessandra Zantedeschi and their three children. They are noted with the observation oltre al cuore, solo queste or “besides heart, only these” in the bottle, indicative of the purity of and intention behind even their entry-level Valpolicella, not to mention the rest of the stellar Monte Dall’Ora line-up.
The estate of Monte Dall'Ora is owned by Alessandra and Carlo Venturini and is located at Castellroto, in the hills outside Verona. The Venturinis are firm adherents to biodynamic principles and encourage the growth of biodiversity by planting herbs such as rosemary and lavender in the summer to attract bees and by sowing cereals in the winter, the roots of which aerate the soil. In addition, indigenous grape varieties are employed wherever possible. The Valpolicella Saseti is a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara and Oseleta and is fermented in stainless steel tanks using only natural local yeasts.
